Date Rape Drugs
Drugs such as Rohypnol, GHB, and Ketamine are often abused to facilitate sexual assault, and commonly referred to as “Date Rape Drugs”. These drugs incapacitate the victim making them incapable of resisting sexual advances. Victims usually do not know that they have been drugged at all since these drugs are usually odorless, colorless, and tasteless when dissolved in drinks such as soda, juice or alcohol. These drugs also quickly leave the system and there is often little evidence to prove a person was drugged. In addition, victims have little or no memory of the events that occurred during the time they were under the drug’s effects leaving difficulty proving they were assaulted.
