Radar Trailer
The Radar Trailer is a mobile radar unit that works independent of a patrol vehicle and without the need for manual operation by a police officer. The radar captures the speed of passing vehicles and displays the vehicles speed on the large LED panel. If the vehicles speed is in excess of the posted speed, the displayed screen will flash. The department deploys the radar trailer at locations where most speeding complaints are generated. Although the Traffic Safety Officers determine where to deploy the trailer, most requests come from the Township's residents. The sign works as a warning to motorists and after several days the sign is removed and replaced by patrol car radar. Use of the portable radar has been very effective throughout the Township and may be requested through our traffic division.
