The Township of Ocean is currently conducting an in-house, desk-top reassessment of all properties in the municipality. This reassess is effective for the tax year 2023. The purpose of the reassessment is to have the total assessed value of the Township be equal the current market value of its property. This reassessment ensures a fair and equitable distribution of the tax burden among all township property owners. Notices of new assessments for the 2023 Tax Year will be mailed out by December 1st, 2022 As part of the reassessment, Realty Data Systems (RDS) will be inspecting 20% of Township properties this year. The inspections have begun and will continue throughout the year.  If you own a rental property, please advise the occupants of the upcoming inspection. Realty Data Systems offers both in-person, and “virtual” interior inspections. Exterior inspections are conducted in-person. If you ever have concerns about an inspector claiming to work on behalf of our office, please call us, or the police nonemergency line. Each of us have information on the current inspectors available to confirm whether the individual is contracted to work for the Township.
